A Chariton County accident Monday night injured a truck driver from Keytesville.

The highway patrol reports 62-year-old William Fox was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital in Columbia with minor injuries. A state trooper reported Fox was driving a tractor-trailer westbound on Highway 24 when he attempted a right turn onto Route F but lost control, causing the big rig to overturn demolishing the truck.

The accident at 9:35 pm happened five miles west of Keytesville. The truck driver, according to the report, was not using a safety device.
