Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Major AJ Carrel with Criminal Investigations reports two individuals face charges after the sheriff’s office and Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force received a cyber tip from Google in reference to possible child pornography.

Twenty-year-old Anthony Charles Gross of Plattsburg has been charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography—second or subsequent offense or possession of more than 20 pictures on one film or videotape.

Nineteen-year-old Leda Jewell Powell of Cameron has been charged with one count of felony possession of child pornography—first offense.

Gross and Powell have pleaded not guilty. Gross was scheduled for a bond appearance hearing on Tuesday. Powell is scheduled for a confined docket hearing on March 3rd.

Carrel says they are being held at the Clinton County Detention Center with no bond. The investigation is still active.
