Three injured in Caldwell County crash

Three people were injured early Tuesday evening in a Caldwell County, two-vehicle, accident approximately one-half west of Hamilton. The crash involved a sport utility vehicle westbound on Highway 36 and a pickup northbound on Route P.

All three were taken by ambulances to the Cameron Regional Medical Center. The highway patrol listed injuries as minor for the driver of the pickup, 83-year-old Robert Jewell of Kidder. No injury was reported for the SUV driver, 18-year-old Keagan O’Riley of Clearmont, however, two passengers from Clearmont were hurt including 46-year-old Deandra O’ Riley who received moderate injuries and 50-year-old Anthony O’ Riley had minor injuries.

The pickup allegedly failed to yield and traveled onto U-S 36 and the passenger side of the pickup was struck by the O’Riley SUV.

Both vehicles were demolished in the 6:10 pm Tuesday accident. The O’Riley’s were using seat belts while Robert Jewell was not.

Assisting state troopers were the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department, Caldwell, and Daviess County Emergency Medical Services.
