Texas man hurt in I-35 crash

A man from Texas was injured in an accident yesterday morning four miles to the north of Cameron.

The highway patrol reports 54-year-old Mjiguel Arredondo of Penitas, Texas was transported by ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

According to the accident report, a pickup was southbound on Interstate 35 when the towed vehicle blew a tire causing Arredondo to travel off the west side of the highway and up a grass embankment. The vehicle spun 180 degrees, traveled back down the embankment before coming to a stop on the shoulder of the Interstate highway.

Damage was moderate. The driver was using a seat belt.
