Teresa Yoder of Jamesport wins the Missouri FFA Agricultural Processing Proficiency Award

Teresa K Yoder of Jamesport won the Missouri FFA Agricultural Processing Proficiency Award at the 91st Missouri FFA Convention.

Yoder is a senior at Trenton High School and is a member of the Trenton FFA chapter. Her parents are Levi Jr. and Mattie Yoder. Her advisors are Kabel Oaks and Brook Kreatz.

Yoder’s supervised agricultural experience program includes her employment and part ownership at T.K.’s Processing. Her responsibilities include butchering deer and chicken to specific cuts and products such as burger, steak, jerky, and summer sausage. Yoder performs these tasks after school and over weekends. In 2018, T.K.’s Processing processed roughly 160 deer and 600 chickens.

In FFA, Yoder has attended National FFA Convention, Missouri FFA Convention, and Area Greenhand Motivational Conference. 

In addition to FFA, Yoder participated in high school and club volleyball, basketball and was a wrestling manager. She also is a member of Shelburne Baptist Church.

After graduation, Yoder plans to enlist in the Army and complete basic training. After basic, she plans to attend North Central Missouri College-Trenton, and continue operating T.K.’s Processing.

Proficiency awards recognize FFA members who excel as agricultural entrepreneurs, employees or volunteers while gaining hands-on career experience. Agricultural Processing is one of 48 proficiency award areas recognized at the state level. Missouri Agribusiness Association sponsored this award.
