The Chillicothe City Council hired two firefighters during an executive session at the last meeting. Mathew Chaney was hired as a full-time emergency medical technician/firefighter, and Mathew Gabrielson was hired as a firefighter paid-by-call. The vote on each was five to zero.
Grundy County sales tax collections so far in 2020 are approximately $5,500 more than this time last year in the general revenue, ambulance, and law enforcement funds.
