Enrollment in school at Spickard increases by four on first day of classes
The Spickard R-2 School District began its academic year Thursday, August 27th. The district reports a first-day enrollment of 27 in kindergarten through sixth grade, which is an increase of four from last year’s first day. The largest class is kindergarten with six students, and the smallest is second grade with two.

Spickard R-2 School hosts Halloween event
Candy and treats were passed out to Spickard R-2 students and children from the community at an event at the school gym Wednesday. Superintendent Burnie Schneiderheinze says more than 20 teachers and community members passed out the candy and treats. Tables set up in the gym were decorated for Halloween.
