The Spickard R-2 School District began its academic year Thursday, August 27th. The district reports a first-day enrollment of 27 in kindergarten through sixth grade, which is an increase of four from last year’s first day. The Missouri Department of Corrections reports an increase of four COVID-19 cases among offenders at the Chillicothe Correctional Center. That brings the cumulative total to 239 cases of COVID-19 with forty-nine of the cases active and 190 recovered. There are 24 cumulative staff cases of COVID-19 with six active, and 18 recovered.
