A Maryville 7th grader, Raymond Zhao, won the Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday in St. Joseph. Zhao qualifies for the Scripps National Spelling Bee which begins May 24th in Washington D.C. Finishing second at the regional competition was st. Joseph 7th grader Emilee Evans.
The Mosaic Life Care Foundation will host and sponsor the Northwest Missouri Regional Spelling Bee in March.
