The Highway Patrol reports no traffic fatalities were noted over the long New Year’s holiday weekend. The 78 hour counting period began last Thursday evening at 6 o’clock and concluded this past Sunday at midnight. Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows that deer hunters in Missouri harvested 14,896 deer during the antlerless portion of the firearms deer season, Dec. 4-12.
