SUV hits parked car in Albany injuring two

The Highway Patrol reports two Albany residents sustained injuries as a result of a sports utility vehicle hitting a parked vehicle and overturning inside the Albany city limits on Tuesday night.

An air ambulance transported 28-year-old Joshua Sweat to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph with what was described as serious injuries. An ambulance transported 20-year-old Sebastian Sweat to Mosaic Life Care with injuries described as moderate.

The SUV traveled east on Daniel Street before its front passenger side struck the parked vehicle, traveled off the north side of the road, and overturned, striking a concrete staircase of a residence. The vehicle came to rest on its passenger side facing west on the north side of the road, totaled.

The Sweats did not wear safety devices.

The Gentry County Sheriff’s Department, Gentry County Fire and Rescue, Grand River Ambulance, and Life Net assisted at the scene of the crash.
