The suspect has been identified who died in an officer-involved shooting near Holt on Thursday following an armed robbery and shooting earlier Thursday. Media outlets report the man was 28 year old Jeffery Millsap of Holt.
Authorities say the man stole a gun from an Academy Sports and Outdoors at Liberty, and there were no shots fired or injuries from that incident. Officers later responded to a shooting at Landmark Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram at Independence and found a male employee with gunshot wounds. The suspect allegedly fled north into Clay County, where he was identified by deputies and died after a shooting with police.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.
