Customers of Summit Natural Gas of Missouri, Incorporated will see natural gas rates change under a filing taking effect Monday, November 19th.

The rate change will reflect estimated changes in the wholesale cost of natural gas and a change in the company’s actual cost adjustment factor. The actual cost adjustment factor is a mechanism that tracks any over- or under-collection of actual natural gas costs over a 12-month period.

The net over- or under-collected balances are then either refunded or collected the next year.

The Public Service Commission reports residential customers in Summit Natural Gas’s Gallatin Division will see the rate decrease about two cents per hundred cubic feet of natural gas to 43 cents per hundred cubic feet. The filing says the decrease will cause an average winter month residential gas bill to decrease by about $2.69.

Summit Natural Gas serves about 18,370 customers in Missouri, including the counties of Harrison, Daviess, and Caldwell.
