Spickard Board of Education approves wellness plan

At a meeting Monday evening of the Spickard R-2 Board of Education, approval was given to the 2016-2017 Professional Development Plan, which included a proposed schedule and expenditures.

The school district wellness plan was approved including goals, committee members and nutrition education. Also adopted was the state model of theSpecial Education Compliance Plan.

Board members agreed to move forward with opening an account at the U.S. Bank for the purpose of direct deposit. The annual secretary of the board report for 2015-16 was reviewed.

School administrator Burnie Schneiderheinze told the board about MAP testing results and attendance, both of which are described as up from the previous year.

It was announced Spickard students will be traveling to Papa Charlie’s Pumpkin Patch near Chillicothe October 11th.
