The Special Olympics Missouri North Area Track and Field meet will bring more than 140 athletes from across northern Missouri to Savannah.  This area-level event takes place April 28th at Savannah Middle School.

Opening Ceremonies will begin at 9 am on the track and consist of entertainment provided by Special Olympics Cheerleaders, the running of the Special Olympics torch, and the athlete oath.  Games will start at 10 am and run until approximately 2 pm.

Athletes will compete in running/walking events as well as field events including running and standing long jump, javelin, and many more. The public is invited to this free event to show your support by cheering athletes on as “fans in the stands.”

Special Olympics is dedicated to improving the overall health and fitness of our athletes by providing competition events like this year round in the North area as well as the entire state of Missouri.

The 2018 Area Spring Games would not be possible without the generous support from local organizations, in this case, event sponsors Savannah Middle School, Masonic Lodge, and Saint Joseph Sertoma Club.
