South Harrison Elementary, Middle, and High Schools in Bethany will conduct orientation and registration for its students in mid-August, in preparation for the upcoming school year.
For elementary students, registration will be held on Monday and Tuesday, August 8th and 9th, from 9 to noon and 1 to 3 o’clock. In order to register your child, parents and/or guardians will need the child’s birth certificate and social security card, the immunization records, and the address of the school last attended. Parents of elementary children new to the South Harrison District should register their child at the elementary school (2213 Beekman Street in Bethany) or call (660) 425-8061. An open house will be held on Thursday night, August 18th from 5:30 to 6:30 at the school in Bethany.
Middle school students are requested to report to the South Harrison High School Commons (3400 Bulldog Avenue) according to their grade level. For 5th grade orientation, that will be Thursday, August 11th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. For orientation for the 6th grade, the date and time is Friday, August 12th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Seventh grade orientation will be Tuesday, August 16th from 9 to 3, while 8th grade registration will be Monday, August 15th from 9 to 3. Students new to the district are asked to come at their appropriate grade level times and dates. Chromebooks will be distributed at the sessions, with insurance available.
For students attending South Harrison High School in 2016-2017, the freshman registration and orientation will be Monday, August 15th at 7:00 PM. Parents are welcome to attend. Sophomore registration will be Friday, August 12th from 9 to 3, with junior registration on Thursday, August 11th from 9 to 3, and senior registration on Wednesday, August 10th from 9 to 3. Chromebooks, with insurance available, will be disbursed at these sessions. High School students are asked to report to the SHHS Commons (3400 Bulldog Avenue).
The first day of school in the South Harrison District will be Monday, August 22nd.
