Chillicothe FFA members will receive 16 of out of 4,255 American FFA Degrees to be awarded at the 91st National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Saturday.

Chillicothe FFA has the highest in the state and the third highest number of American FFA Degrees to be awarded to a single chapter in the country.

The degree honors members who show dedication to the organization through their desire to develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. It is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization and is only given to one percent of FFA membership.

Members who qualify for the American FFA Degree meet certain requirements.

Some of those requirements include receiving the State FFA Degree, being an active member for the past three years, satisfactorily participating in activities on the chapter and state level, and satisfactorily completing secondary or postsecondary school instruction requirements.

Each recipient receives a gold American FFA Degree key and a certificate.
