Shots fired after stop by law enforcement near Bethany, Missouri

The Missouri Highway Patrol conducted a manhunt for a suspect in a chase in Harrison County Wednesday night.

It happened just before 8 p.m on I-35 near mile marker 95, according to Missouri Highway Patrol sergeant Jake Angle.

Authorities attempted to arrest two suspects in a traffic stop, but one was able to flee and make it back to the car.

The suspect led officers on a pursuit on southbound I-35 where at some point, shots were fired, but it is unclear who fired.

Authorities discovered the car on an outer road near mile marker 93. The suspect had fled on foot and there were no reports of injury.

No other information was available.
