Separate accidents injure Winston, Cameron men

Separate accidents this morning injured residents of Winston and Cameron.

At 6:20 this morning, March 14th, 52 year old Charles Uthe (you-thee) of Winston was northbound on Route J at Altamont when, due to foggy conditions, the patrol stated a sports utility vehicle went across Highway 6 where it struck a MoDOT sign and a tree.

He was transported by ambulance to Mosiac Life Care in St. Joseph with moderate injuries.

The SUV was demolished. The report indicated the driver was not using a seat belt.

At 9:30 this morning, four miles south of Cameron, 30 year old Scott Shannon of Cameron received what the patrol called minor injuries when his large truck was involved in an accident.

Shannon was transported by ambulance to the Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The state patrol noted Shannon was southbound when he attempted to turn from U-S 69 onto Highway 121 but the big rig overturned onto its passenger side.

Damage was listed as extensive. The report noted the driver was not using a seat belt.
