A seventh through 12th-grade science teacher at Newtown-Harris, Michelle McLaughlin, is resigning effective at the end of the school year and plans to move out of the state.

The district will be re-evaluating its bus contract for next school year. Newtown-Harris currently contracts through the Princeton School District which is sending out bid proposals next Spring.

The board approved Milan MFA as the primary gas and diesel resource for the district.

An audit for last school year was approved from Conrad and Higgins of Chillicothe, with no concerns noted by auditors.

Newtown-Harris received 92% on its annual progress report.

Superintendent Johnson attended a meeting with State Representative Nate Walker regarding education initiatives and resolutions. He noted that transportation funding continues to be problematic for school districts.

The Newtown-Harris district is to provide a ham for all district employees for Christmas.
