A fire late Saturday night destroyed an abandoned house just east of Chillicothe at Route V and Livingston County Road 232.
The structure was fully involved when Chillicothe firefighters arrived and a mutual aid water tanker was requested from the Chula department.
Ten thousand gallons of water were used to extinguish the blaze. Chillicothe Fire Chief Darrel Wright said all damage was contained to the abandoned structure—which was totally destroyed.
The owner of the structure was listed as Ronald Hapes of rural Chillicothe.
