Salvation Army provides update on Christmas assistance needs and bell ringers in Trenton and Chillicothe

The Salvation Army office in Chillicothe has provided an update regarding Christmas assistance and bell ringing in Trenton and Chillicothe.

Caseworker Lynda Snuffer reports all “angel trees” have been placed at selected businesses in both towns. Shoppers can select a card with gift ideas for children. She also is asking for additional food donations to help complete the filling of Christmas baskets for persons and families who have signed up. The items can be taken to the Salvation Army office at 621 West Mohawk in the north part of Chillicothe or left at the red boxes at the Chillicothe food store locations of Sliced Bread Market, HyVee, and Wal Mart.

Mrs. Snuffer reports approximately 200 families in Livingston and Grundy counties are to receive Christmas baskets – plus others who are still signing up.

Additional volunteers are requested to serve this month as bell-ringers for the Salvation Army at selected kettle locations in Trenton and Chillicothe. The ringing of the bell is done Monday through Saturday basis from 10 in the morning until 6 in the evening. To sign up, persons or groups may contact Captain Crystal Sherack with the Salvation Army. Red Boxes are located at Sliced Bread Market, Walmart, and Chillicothe HyVee. The location is 621 West Mohawk, open 9 – 4 Monday  – Friday. There are approximately 200 families for which the Salvation Army is providing Christmas Baskets this year as well as others who were unable to get signed up for Christmas.
