The Salvation Army of Chillicothe is accepting applications for Christmas assistance.
Applications can be submitted at the Salvation Army Office at 621 West Mohawk in Chillicothe weekdays through November 9th from 9 o’clock in the morning to 4 o’clock in the afternoon. They can also be submitted in the classrooms on the east side of the First Christian Church of Trenton weekdays October 29th through November 9th from 10 o’clock in the morning to 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
Social Services Case Manager Lynda Snuffer says certain things need to be brought when signing up for Christmas assistance. They include social security cards for all household members, photo identification for anyone older than 18, proof of income, expenses, birth dates, one or two wants and need per child 15 and younger, and clothing sizes.
Snuffer notes the assistance includes a food basket for each family that signs up, which include several non-perishable items and a ham. Families with children can also be signed up for Angel Tree gifts.
Pickup dates are December 18th in Trenton and December 19th in Chillicothe with distribution sites announced later.
