Salvation Army announces dates for holiday assistance applications

The Salvation Army based in Chillicothe serves Livingston and Grundy Counties.

An advance announcement has been made of the dates, times, and locations in Trenton and Chillicothe regarding applications for assistance during the holiday season.  The applications involve requests from the public for Christmas baskets and adoptions.

Trenton First Christian Church will be where a Salvation Army representative will be accepting applications October 30th through November 3rd from 9 o’clock to 1 o’clock.  The following week, November 6th through 10th, the Salvation Army representative will be at the Christian Church from 9 o’clock to 4 o’clock.

The Chillicothe location for Christmas applications is the Salvation Army office at 621 West Mohawk Road. Applications can be made the weeks of October 23rd to the 27th; and October 30th to November 3rd – each day from 9 to 1 o’clock. For the third week, November 6th to the 10th, applications can be made between 9 and 4 o’clock at Chillicothe.

The Salvation Army has an all you can eat pancake breakfast Saturday, November 4th at Applebee’s in Chillicothe serving from 8 to 10 that morning. Tickets cost eight dollars with one dollar going to the restaurant and the rest going to Salvation Army efforts. Tickets also will be for sale at the Salvation Army booth October 20th and 21st during Missouri Days in Trenton.

Salvation Army bell ringing and counter kettles will begin November 15th at selected businesses in Trenton and Chillicothe. Those who wish to volunteer to ring the bell are to call the office at 660 646 3538. They also can contact Lynda Snuffer of Trenton who is the new case manager for the Salvation Army efforts of Grundy and Livingston counties.
