A Ridgeway man lost his life in an accident Thursday morning on Route T five miles south of Ridgeway, and four miles north of Highway 136 in Harrison County.
Harrison County Coroner Zach Wilson pronounced 83-year-old Thomas Carrall dead at the scene of the accident at 11 o’clock this morning. His body was transported to the Roberson Funeral Home at Bethany.
The crash happened in a MoDOT work zone as Carrall was northbound on Route T in his 1996 GMC Sierra when he struck an unoccupied MoDOT dump truck head-on that was parked in the northbound lane, facing south.
Carall’s GMC Sierra was demolished while the MoDOT dump truck was listed with minor damage.
The patrol report noted that Carrall was not using a seatbelt.
