Missouri Highway Patrol Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI  sobriety checkpoint and saturation conducted in Adair County. 

The saturation was conducted from 11 p.m. on July 22, to 3 a.m. on July 23, 2016. The DWI checkpoint was conducted from 11 p.m. on July 23, to 3 a.m. on July 24, 2016, on Missouri Highway 6, at the intersection of Potter Trail, with the assistance of the Adair County Sheriff’s Department.

The goal of the enforcement operations were to detect impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes.  As a result of the operations, officers made one arrest for driving while intoxicated, two misdemeanor criminal arrests, one felony criminal arrest, and issued 29 traffic citations and 66 warnings.  The following is a list of traffic citations issued: 6 ─ Citations were issued for exceeding the speed limit.

10 ─ Citations were issued for seat belt violations.
2 ─ Citations were issued for child restraint violations.
4 ─ Citations were issued for insurance violations.
4 ─ Citations were issued for driver’s license violations.
1 ─ Citation was issued for a hazardous moving violation.
1 ─ Citation was issued for a non-moving violation.
1 ─ Citation was issued for a person under 21 years of age possessing intoxicating liquor.

“The Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in the upcoming months,” stated Captain Wilt.  “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways.  If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”
