Large amounts of rain in recent days has greatly improved drought conditions in northern Missouri.
The newest Missouri drought map was released Thursday morning and is based on weather conditions for the week ending Tuesday morning. The map shows 1% of Missouri in a severe drought which encompasses portions of Boone, Cooper, Howard, and Moniteau counties.
Fourteen percent of the state is in a moderate drought which encompasses portions of seven counties in the northern Missouri area including Gentry, DeKalb, Daviess, Grundy, Livingston, Linn, and Macon counties.
