A Rayville man died following a one-vehicle accident in western Ray County Friday night.
The Highway Patrol reports 34-year-old Jeremy Novak traveled east on West 158th Street west of Route Y when the vehicle he drove crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the road. Then the vehicle struck a mailbox and a ditch, which caused it to overturn before hitting a fence and ejecting Novak.
Novak was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Thurman Funeral Home of Richmond.
Novak did not wear a safety device at the time of the accident. Ray County deputies assisted at the scene of the crash.
