There are a couple of races in Mercer County for the August Primary Election.
Incumbent Shane Grooms and Justin Porter both filed as Republicans for First District Commissioner. Filing as Republicans for sheriff were Jose Lopez and Jimmy See.
Only one candidate filed for other Mercer County offices. Other incumbents seeking reelection include Second District Commissioner Zach Martin, Collector-Treasurer Susan Moore, Public Administrator Kelli Judd, and Coroner Doug Priest. Dana Widner filed for Assessor. Each filed as a Republican.
There are two races in Sullivan County for the August Primary Election.
For First District Commissioner, Rye Page and Colin Sorhus both filed as Republicans. Incumbent Randy Huffman and Michael Williams filed for Second District Commissioner as Republicans.
Other Sullivan County offices only had one candidate file. Other incumbents seeking reelection include Democrat Public Administrator Joan “Tipton” Brummitt, Republican Sheriff Roger Smiley, and Republican Treasurer-Collector Jennifer Russell. Other candidates filing for the August Primary include Carly Bohle Arnold for Assessor as a Democrat and Robert “Bob” Wyant for Coroner as a Republican.
