Putnam County accident involving farm tractor injures Missouri woman

An accident in eastern Putnam County at 6:30 Monday evening injured a woman from Worthington, Missouri when there was a collision involving a car and farm tractor at a bridge five miles to the southwest of Livonia.

The highway patrol reports 52-year-old Thersa Steiser of Worthington was flown by medical helicopter to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa with serious injuries.

Ms. Steiser had been southbound on Route Double-F while a tractor driven by 34-year-old Jerry Prouch of Queen City was northbound.

The patrol noted the tractor was occupying part of the southbound lane attempting to cross a bridge when the collision occurred. The car was demolished. The tractor received moderate damage.

The report indicated she was not wearing a seat belt.
