The Highway Patrol reports a Purdin woman sustained serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident three miles north of Purdin Tuesday morning.
Thirty-two-year-old Jennifer Fainter traveled south on Missouri Highway 5 when she fell asleep. Her car then ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment, went airborne, and then struck the ground and a tree, totaling the vehicle.
A medical helicopter transported Fainter to the University Hospital in Columbia and the Patrol reports she wore a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
