Prison time handed down during latest session of Grundy County Circuit Court

Trenton resident James Earl Harding was sentenced when he appeared Thursday in Division One of the Grundy County Circuit Court.

On a stealing-related charge, third offense, Harding was sentenced to four years in prison and on a drug possession charge, he was sentenced to six years.  Execution of the concurrent sentences was suspended in favor of five years probation. Harding was ordered by the court to make restitution of $1,053 and donate $150 to the law enforcement fund.

Imposition of sentence was suspended by the court for Robert Clayton Sloan of Trenton and he was placed on five years probation after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance. A second drug related charge was dismissed.

Three defendants saw probation revoked after admitting to several violations with previous stays of execution were set aside for each person.

Cassandra Sue Brewer of Trenton was sentenced to an original four-year term with the department of corrections on each of two charges: felony passing bad checks and receiving stolen property. The terms run concurrently.

Tony Clay Dittemore of Trenton was ordered to serve a four-year sentence with the Department of Corrections for second-degree burglary. Dittemore is to make restitution of $12,575.

Donald Brown of Milan was sentenced to five years in prison on each of 12 felony counts involving passing bad checks. Execution of sentence was suspended by the court in favor of five years probation with special conditions.  Brown is to pay restitution of $2,058. The sentence is consecutive with a criminal case in Morgan County.
