The Highway Patrol reports a Princeton teen, 17-year-old Calvin Berwanger, was injured Thursday night when the pickup he was driving traveled off Highway 136 and overturned at Mount Moriah.

The highway patrol last night described his injuries as serious and Berwanger was taken by ambulance to the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton. The accident report noted he was not using a safety device.

An investigating officer said Berwanger was eastbound when the truck crossed the center line and traveled off the north side of Highway 136 where it struck a large stump and overturned, coming to a stop on its wheels.

The pickup was demolished in the accident at 10:40 Thursday night.

Assistance was provided by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.
