The Princeton R-5 Board of Education approved construction improvements at its meeting Monday evening.

Improvements to be completed by E. L. Crawford Construction Company include additional sidewalk replacements east of the Stacy Building, demolition of old foundations south of the Stacy, addition of a French drain on the northwest corner of the Stacy, additional concrete paving near the new press box location, addition of a four-inch mason wall in the new fitness room, an external metal panel upgrade for the Stacy addition, and an addition of an eight-foot rear walkway for the football field bleachers.

The board reviewed the 2017-2018 Sports Interest Survey students submitted. The district will evaluate the new Grand River Conference divisions and sports offerings and compare them to what is currently offered at Princeton.

It was announced school board election filing dates go through January 16th. Incumbents Chad Smith and Blake Boxley have both completed paperwork for the two seats on the board.

In a closed session, the board approved the resignation of fourth through sixth-grade elementary teacher Trish Theiss.
