A single vehicle accident on Route A, north of Trenton this morning, claimed the life of a Princeton man.

The highway patrol identified the victim as 67-year-old Kendall Shriver of Princeton. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grundy County Coroner just after 11 o’clock today.

The state patrol said Shriver was eastbound when his pickup traveled off the south side of Route A. He then over-corrected causing the truck to go off the north side of the road where it overturned multiple times. The pickup (2006 Ford F-150) came to a stop on its passenger side in the ditch and was demolished. The accident happened five miles north of Trenton. The report noted Kendall Shriver was not using a seat belt.

He’s the second traffic fatality this year for Grundy County.

Several state troopers, who were already in Grundy County this morning investigating an injury accident on Route Z, went to the Route A accident that was reported at 10:30.

Assisting at the Route A scene were the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, Grundy County Emergency Medical Services, and the Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District.
