Princeton City Council approves contracts

The Princeton City Council has approved a service contract for a “Hee Haw Hootenany” Saturday night at the Cow Palace.

The Buckaroo Band, featuring local talent, performs at 7 o’clock with the entertainment preceded by a chili and dessert supper at 6 o’clock. The $450 service contract was requested by the Princeton Chamber of Commerce. The chamber and the Calamity jane players are sponsoring the Hee Haw Hootenany with proceeds to go for continuing work to improve handicap accessibility at the Cow Palace.

The chamber also was approved for a $325 service contract for Christmas Around the Square activities to be held on December 3rd. The event is to include the Princeton High School band and choir, other entertainers, Santa, an elf workshop, and Christmas tree lighting.

The council approved a building permit for Ed and Logan Stiles to build a garage at their residence on Grant Street.

It was agreed to abate $84 of back taxes owed to the city on a lot the Senior Center purchased from the city on the Princeton square where a fire damaged building was removed. The lot had been quit deeded to the city by the previous owner which was later sold to the Senior Center.

The city of Princeton will be advertising a 1987 ford pickup truck it has for sale with bids to be sought for the truck.
