The Princeton City Council approved a building permit and a request for band tax money on Monday evening, December 7th.

Deputy City Clerk Lisa Colson reports the building permit was for Roberson Funeral Home to construct covered walkways as an extension to an awning.

Five hundred dollars of band tax money was approved for a performance by the school band and choir to perform on the Princeton Square on December 12th. It was previously announced by the Princeton Chamber of Commerce that the Princeton High School band and choir are scheduled to perform on the square at an event that evening from 5 o’clock to 6:30 involving an appearance by Santa.

There was a discussion of funding options for the rehabilitation of the city pool. Colson says the funding currently available is not enough to repair the pool. The mayor directed the staff to continue to look into funding options.

Rapid Removal reported a dumpster will be at the city barn through December 13th for city-wide cleanup. A dumpster for cardboard will also be available for city residents.
