Princeton Board of Education has busy agenda at latest meeting

The Princeton R-5 Board of Education approved the steps and movement for certified staff for the 2017-2018 school year as well as the wage schedule for non-certified staff at its meeting Monday evening.

The board also approved the auditor service agreement with Conrad and Higgins as well as the transportation director, mechanic, and driver position job description.

The board reviewed the timeline for the transition to district owned and operated transportation services, including advertising bid specifications for buses and advertising for director-mechanic as well as interviewing and hiring for director-mechanic, approving lease purchase paperwork, and approving bus purchases April 10th; advertising for bus driver positions April 11th; and hiring bus drivers for the 2017-2018 school year May 8.

An update was presented on the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning project completed at the high school and approved a roofing contractor to apply a recoat.

The board reviewed instruction, technology, and equipment long term goals.

Danny Shew gave an update on the Princeton Archery Program as the team competed in the South Harrison Archery Tournament.

Students medaling were Megan Hydorn in first place, Colton Youngs in second place, and Juana Jones in third place.

After a closed session, the board announced the approval of the resignation of Elementary Special Education Teacher Erma Newton and Elementary Teacher Hilary Marshall.

The board also approved the extra duty assignments and all probationary teaching contracts for next school year.
