Princeton Board of Education approves bond resolution

The Princeton R-5 Board of Education approved a bond resolution at its meeting Monday evening.

The resolution establishes a final terms committee for the sale of the general obligation bond issue.

The committee members are Board President Rick Ellsworth, District Superintendent Jerry Girdner, and President and CEO of L. J. Hart and Company Larry J. Hart.

The district will be able to produce additional funds for the projects in the amount of $430,000. Net proceeds will total more than $6,150,000.

The board heard updates on the timeline of construction as well as summer maintenance.

The Board reviewed the recommendation for the School Improvement Team to dissolve the stipend that was being awarded for the service.

The individual committees will continue to function and be coordinated at the beginning of each school year.

Student handbooks for next school year as well as an FFA grant opportunity for a small tractor for the FFA Farm were presented.

The board will hold a special meeting regarding the budget the evening of June 29th at 5:30.

After a closed session, the board announced it approved the resignation of Assistant Girls Basketball Coach Scott Ussery.

It approved extra duty for Thomas Hotmer for football field painting, Wade Hall for softball field painting, and Wes Guilkey and Natalie Smith for summer weights as well as Smith for junior high cheer.

The board also approved Alex Lloyd for junior high football as well as assistant girls varsity basketball and Damon Collins for junior high softball, junior high track, and supervisor for a dual credit course.
