The 14th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will be Saturday, October 28.

There will be several locations in the area to dispose of prescription drugs that have expired, gone unused, or are no longer needed from 10 o’clock that morning to 2 o’clock that afternoon.

Missouri locations include the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office in Princeton, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office in Kirksville, and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office in Unionville.

Iowa locations include the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office in Leon, the Appanoose County Sheriff’s Office in Centerville, and the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office in Mount Ayr.

The National Prescription Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. It is a project of the United States Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Grundy County has a Take-Back Prescription Drugs depository box inside the foyer of the Law Enforcement Center in Trenton, which can be accessed 24 hours a day. It is a service of the Grundy County Community 2000 Coalition.
