The Cameron Police Department reports it has made an arrest in reference to a possible threat at the Cameron High School on Tuesday.

Cameron R-1 School District Superintendent Matt Robinson says a high school student was arrested after students heard him verbally threaten violence. Robinson would not confirm the student’s identity because the student is a minor. The police responded to the school, worked with school officials and the student was taken to the police station.

The Cameron Police Department in conjunction with the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office are working together on formal charges. Robinson says the Cameron School District sent a letter to high school parents explaining the situation and that authorities had dealt with the situation.
