Wright Memorial Hospital of Trenton presented the Fit-Tastic interactive program to fifth and sixth graders at Pleasant View R-6 School recently.
Hospital registered dietitian Christina Ferguson presented the program during Abbie Herrold’s physical education and health class one day a week for three weeks with assistance from Trenton Hy-Vee’s registered dietitian Cindy Eivins.
The Fit-tastic program focuses on five evidence-based habits that can be practiced every day as part of a healthy lifestyle. Students Tymber Cooksey and Astrid Soriano received Garmin Vivofit Junior devices as part of a drawing for the Fit-Tastic program.
The Grundy County Health Department sponsored the program and donated the Garmin devices.
