An increase of one cent has been approved for the Pleasant View R-6 school tax levy. The new rate, adopted by the board of education, is almost $4.79 on the 100 dollars of assessed valuation.

Approval also was given to the annual secretary of the board report; the state transportation report; current school bus routes; free and reduced lunch price guidelines, and the early dismissal of classes schedule.

Summer projects reviewed included refinishing bathroom stalls; resealing of windows in the front of the school; and a new computer lab.

Upcoming events at Pleasant View R-6 school include an open house for pre-school through 8th grade on Monday, August 22nd at 6 o’clock. This is when parents and students can meet the teachers, take school supplies, and have a picnic meal. The first day of classes is August 24th.

In an executive session for personnel, Courtney Deaver of Trenton was hired as Parents as Teachers representative and Cyndy Munday of Chillicothe will be the speech pathologist for the school.
