The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education approved the 2018-2019 school audit on Tuesday evening.

An update was heard on a proposal to add on new classrooms and hire a fifth-grade teacher next school year, and there was a discussion on the school’s 2020 Missouri United School Insurance Council insurance renewal. However, no action was taken on those matters.

It was announced the special education count for the current school year is up two students from the 2018-2019 school year.

Superintendent Rebecca Steinhoff reported Janet Lake’s preschool through eighth grade Christmas program will be Friday night at 7 o’clock, and the KEYS Christmas program will be the evening of December 19th at 6 o’clock.

Pleasant View will dismiss early December 20th, and school will not be in session December 23rd through January 5th. There will be another early dismissal on January 17th and no school on January 20th.

In a closed session, the board approved the hire of Kelli Urton of Trenton as the new Parents as Teachers coordinator.
