In northern Harrison county, the Highway Patrol reports a pedestrian attempting to cross Interstate 35 was struck and killed by a northbound truck.
The highway patrol, in their online report, has not identified the pedestrian who was described as walking in the dark from the east side to the west side while on the northbound lanes of the interstate. The pickup was northbound in the driving lane. The driver was listed as 30-year-old Nathan Martin of Pulaski, Iowa.
The accident near Eagleville happened at 6 o’clock on Monday evening. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Harrison County Coroner.
Assisting the patrol were the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, North Harrison Ambulance, North Harrison fire department, and Harrison County first responders.
This is the second traffic fatality of this year in Harrison County investigated by the Highway Patrol.
