A two-vehicle crash in Ray County has claimed the life of a man from Polo and seriously injured a resident of Rayville.
Twenty-five-year-old Justin Hicks of Polo died at North Kansas City Hospital Wednesday after being injured in the 6 am crash. The other driver, 49-year-old Larry York of Rayville, was taken to North Kansas City Hospital.
The crash occurred as Hicks was westbound when the van he was driving began to skid, crossed the center of Highway 210 and collided with the oncoming (eastbound) dump truck driven by York.
Both vehicles were demolished and troopers report York was using a seat belt while Hicks was not.
