The Highway Patrol reports an air ambulance transported a Novinger woman to a hospital following a one-car accident five miles south of Martinstown Thursday afternoon.

Seventy-two-year-old Carolyn Heidenwith traveled north on Highway 149 when the car she drove ran off the road and struck a ditch, which caused the vehicle moderate damage.

The air ambulance transported Heidenwith to Northeast Medical Center in Kirksville with what the Patrol called moderate injuries.

The Patrol reports she did not wear a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
