Northeast Missouri Livestock Person of the Year nominations now being accepted

Nominations are now being accepted through May 1 to nominate someone for the award of 2017 Northeast Missouri Livestock Person of the Year.

Nominations can be made from any of 16 counties including Putnam, Sullivan, and Linn of the Green Hills area as well asAdair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Pike, Randolph, Ralls, Schuyler, Scotland and Shelby counties.

The individual receiving the award must have made a significant contribution to the livestock industry. Eligible applicants can be producers of livestock, agribusiness personnel, agency personnel, or agriculture researchers.

Other parties who have been long-time supporters of the northeast Missouri livestock industry also are considered.

The selected applicant becomes a member of the Northeast Missouri Livestock Producers Hall of Fame; and will be inducted at a ceremony at the Missouri Livestock Symposium in Kirksville December 1 and 2. The winner receives a hand painted framed oil portrait and a plaque.
