Candidate filing dates have been set for next years’ election involving the North Mercer R-3 Board of Education.
The first day for candidates to file is December 11th with filing to conclude at 5 o’clock on January 15th. Board filings can be done during school hours at North Mercer. With terms expiring next April are Tracy Meinecke and Jennifer Wilson.
The board of education last night approved the 2017-18 school year audit which noted the district had a good operating year and is financially stable.
Approval was given to the food service procurement policy. The board was informed Mercer will receive $8,047 for a new dishwasher. Appointments include Terry Bomgarder as homeless liaison and Lauren Guilkey as foster care point of contact. Cassie Moore was appointed assistant girls basketball coach replacing Natalie Smith who resigned those duties.
Announced were the 19 overall winners of the Millemon Math awards, of which six are first-time winners at the North Mercer school.
