Members of the Shooting Sports Club at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) recently competed at a shooting competition hosted by Hannibal-LaGrange University. This was the first intercollegiate shooting event for the Shooting Sports Club at NCMC, now in its second year.
The event was held at Hannibal-LaGrange University’s home range near Taylor, Mo. The top five scores for each team were totaled to determine a team score in both the trap and skeet competitions. In trap shooting, Hannibal-LaGrange had a team score of 241/250 while NCMC scored 232/250. For the skeet competition, Hannibal-LaGrange scored 118/125 and NCMC tallied 68/125.
“It was a great opportunity for our members to shoot against an established collegiate-level shooting team,” stated Jason Helton, co-advisor of the Shooting Sports Club. Co-advisor Rustin Jumps added, “we plan to host Hannibal-LaGrange at our home Trenton Trap & Skeet range in the spring and hope to schedule additional competitions against other schools in the near future.”
